No, I read it but I was in a hurry and missed it. I'm glad you caught it though.

Back in the 1970s, when the lifted trucks were just becoming popular and Bigfoot was just another mud truck, lift kits were all home made, and everybody used blocks front and rear.

Lots of carnage, and plenty of deaths baxk then. It was the aftermarket lift companies that made the hobby safe.

Idk. I think with the right skills TTB drop brackets can be made at any good machine shop. Get more than a 6" lift that way. I might look into doing that

I was looking into that, I have a welder. The radius arm drop brackets would be the harder to make. Was also looking into moving the spring pockets and modifying the crossmember to drop it also. Up or down haven't really decided but it's for work anyways so it will probably be like it is for a while.

I was gonna do it right and spend the money on new extended radius arms from broncograveyard. Gives more tire clearance as well. I would just like an 8" drop, then 6" lift coils and a 4" spacer maybe?? This is all down the road but still. Im concerned with them being sturdy enough though, i guess 1/2"-3/4" plate would do the job, with square tubing all over the place for rwinforcement.

I also considered getting a second crossmember and mounting it under the existing one. It has to be strong it's what the factory uses plus then there would be two.

So like putting 1-2" pipes on the bolts and bring it down that far?? Then put an aftermarket lift?

I didn't actually design a way to do it, I was just throwing ideas around in my head at the time. I was trying to avoid having to buy any parts.

I gotcha. I think i might research drop brackets and figure how theyre made. I need to find a good machine shop around here. I could probably make em myself if i still lived in ohio. But since we moved down here all $10,000 worth of my dads tools are in my grandpas barn.
