I need the relay wire colors to make heads or tails from that.

Life is so much easier with a schematic... but from the color codes you give more then likely red is power wire which gets power from downstream of the EEC relay which is activated with the ignition on run. The one across from it which is green and orange is the leg for EEC control, EEC provides a ground to activate the relay. This wire should also be tied to your vip self test contact. The yellow would be your pump power in (hot all the time) and the one across from it grn/y should be the circuit going to the pumps via the inertia and selector switches.

Keep in mind I am getting my into from Haynes which may not be entirely accurate. Op do you have a Haynes manual yet?

Also you should not have power on any leg other then yellow with the key off. Red should power up with the key in run. If the key is off and you have power on another leg with the light switch on let us know.

definitely something screwy going on with that fuse box under the hood.... when i opened up the bottom to check the wiring, my passenger side headlight wouldnt come on. if one of my headlights doesnt work, the truck wont start. when i put the bottom back on the fuse box, and put the fuse box back in its place, the passenger side headlight started working again, and the truck will start again. for the record, i purchased a new headlight switch today and put it in, nothing has changed.

In troubleshooting, usually where the is smoke there is fire. If your experiencing a problem area then most likely there is a problem there. Maybe not THE problem but one of them. Sorry to hear about the headlight switch. Atleast it's ruled out.

coming off of the relay, it says there should be a light blue/orange, but mine was green/orange.

i may not have found the electrical problem, but i have a few pinholes in a few hoses so....i know where some of my coolant is going lol. I love ford...but i hate some ford owners, mainly the ones that dont keep their maintenance up to date. or fix **** wrong.

Its cold and dark, i need a garage. im done working on it tonight, but ill be on here for a little while, and plan on continuing working on it tomorrow.

Probably faded or something else affected the color. So you can see your yellow wire is hot at all times. The red gets powered with the key on when the PCM relay pulls. You can verify its the right wire by checking continuity at the PCM. connector, or at the FPR test point.

Keep on going despite the previous owners crap. Virtually nothing worked on my truck when I got it. It took me 8 months of doing what your doing to turn it into a reliable, drivable truck.
