stumped
Regarding distributors, I picked up a Richporter distributor about a month ago and it has been great. I ordered it off Amazon. It came with a new TFI as well, so all I had to do was pretty add a little lube to the gear and drop it in.
How much?

But this is another reason why Dist. mounted TFI/PIP's should be swapped out at the same time & remote mount TFI's can & are dealt w/ individually from the PIP as far as their anticipated lifespans.
That's why they went to the remote TFI's not long after your year. Those puppy's bake sitting on top of the engine. Can't do anything about the PIP(stator) location though.

Also, here's the link to the mfr's site for anyone curious about it: http://www.richporter.ca/
jUST LOOKED ON THE SIDE OF THE DISTRIBUTOR, AND LITTLE GRAY BOX LOOKS NEW. i HAVE ALSO FOUND THAT IF KEEP THE RPM'S BETWEEN 1500 AND 2000 AT "IDLE" i DON'T HAVE THE PROBLEM, BUT IT IS STILL EVIDENT. iN OTHER WORDS, i DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT SUDDENLY DIEING ON ME AT STOP SIGNS IF i DO THIS. If this makes sense to you guys, it seems that something is telling it to keep pumping fuel at idle, and when it gets too much it just floods itself out, but I can't understand why it doesn't act like this in cool weather too.
