Default loose coil spring

I put a leveling kit on last fall, now the left coil has loosened up. Anybody have this to happen to them?

Default loose coil spring

The big nut backed off at the bottom of the coil spring. Could the spring itself be in the wrong position? Everything seems to be in order though.

Did you use Loctite?

Its happened to me before. Been hearing a "ding ding ding ding" for a few weeks. Racked my brain tryna figure out where that sound was coming from...til one day outta frustrating I kicked the tire and I heard it. Pulled off the tire and looked some more, found out that it was the washer on the hold down nut pinging everytime I hit a bump. I have dual shocks too...and both sides were loose. Pulled off the nuts put loctite on them and tightened them up.

On my truck you can grab the spring on the drivers side and it gives and squeaks, the passenger side is fine. I was afraid the springs were backwards are something crazy like that, but side the passenger side is tight so I don't know. Almost feels like its loose on the bottom nut thou and not the top bolt. I don't drive this truck every day, so I am gonna tear into it Saturday and see. I would be so thankful if its just the top bolt though.

Thumbs up loose coil spring

Couldn't wait to check it, crawled under there and yes the cup that holds the coil to the axle is loose. Shouldn't be a be deal to tighten, hopefully I can tighten and loc-tite it without removing the shocks

If I remember correctly the socket size was 19mm...used a 3/4 inch drive. Used a magenetic pickup tool and several extensions. And was able to do it without removing the springs! I didn't take the nut completely off..backed it off just enough and used a bamboo skewer to apply loctite to the exposed threads...n tightened it backup.

Default loose coil spring

What did you use the magnetic pickup for? My truck has dual shocks, so that might mean taking one loose just to get some working room. Do you think the coil is still in the right position on the axle?

I used the magnetic pick up to pull the 6 inch 3/4 extensions in and out of the coil spring. Also I didn't have to loosen any shocks....I have dual shocks as well. I think the spring is in the right position. There's a hold down tab at the top of the shock tower that keeps the sprng in place...doesn't look like it moved.
