Default Storage questions

Hey everyone,
I'm off to school in about a month. I won't be home every week so I'm wondering what I should do for storage. I will probably be home to drive it every other month. I tried fitting it in the garage ( didn't fit so well). Just askin for some tips

Thanks

The crap I don't drive often just sits in the yard under the trees.

wash and drive it every time you're home. if you can park it on pavement, it's better than dirt or grass moisture wise.

It's mandatory to do burnouts as soon as you start it too. But maybe some gas stabilizer stuff is my recomendation

I would consider fogging it if it's gonna sit a while... dry starts are hard, esp. if you're dry starting it every month.

Definately go with the fuel stabilizer. The ethanol blended fuels can begin phase seperation in less than a month.

Disconnect both ofthe battery cables.

Put two or three air fresheners in the cab and a couple somewhere under the hood. Little critters like mice and squirrels like to make a nest in unused vehicles and they can do alot of damage with all their nibbling. (The strong scent discourages them from setting up camp.)

X2 ethanol in the fuel broke down my rubber fuel lines and mechanical fuel pump on my mustang while stored. Also synthetic oil stores better than standard. It won't gum or varnish up as easily, coats better and flows into the block more quickly at startup. Also placing the truck on stands and lowering the tire pressure a little can help with the tires. If your serious about tires fill them with nitrogen.
