Default Stand alone tachometer

I have a 1990 xlt lariat 4x4
i want to hook up a three wire tach white,black and red.
Anyone know how ?

lol yes...you cant read directions...?

red wire....Positive...hot with Key ON...
black wire...Ground

White wire...trigger wire...hooks to the Negative side of the Coil...(this is the skinny wire)

I have a big daddy don garlits dixco flag tach.
I want to put on a 1990 xlt.
There is only 3 wires not the traditional 4
try to remember how to hook it up.

the 4th wire is for the light....if it dont have 4 wires it aint got a light...everything else is all you buddy...

its so simple even a caveman could do it....

tach has 3 wires,red black and white.
when red is hot and black is grounded,light comes on.so it has a light,duh
the truck has a coil pack.not a old school coil.
does these new style ignitions and efi junk have somewhere in the dash a place to put the wire for the coil side.
