speedo problem

Question speedo problem

so just five minutes ago i was driving home and i tapped my brake and noticed the speedo bouncing around from like crazy from speed to speed. . does any one know why it does so?

could be the speedo cable coming loose or a bad connection if its electric...

it has the standered (aod) transmission.

that would be a mechanical speedo cable, chances are the point on the cluster is stripped or the gear the cable is hooked to on the tranny is stripped.

yeah im hoping its just the little gear cuz them are easy. it just started today . never happend before
