slave cylinder help!!

Question slave cylinder help!!

im finally getting around to putting my clutch in. got ready to drop the trans but I cant get the plastic line that attaches to the slave cylinder off. the truck is a '94 xlt regular cab with the 302. can somebody help me?

It would be less of a problem if you remove the slave from the bell housing and tie it up somewhere if your not going to replace it. Someone else will chime in here if I'm wrong but I believe you need a special tool to remove the line and then you will need to bleed the air out of the system when you reassemble.

thanks, im planning on changing all of the fluids before it ever hits the road. I got this truck about a month ago and haven't got to drive it yet. I cant wait!

There should be a plastic ring that's on the clutch line by the slave cylinder. Take an open end wrench and push the plastic into the slave conector and it should pop out.

It may be easier to remove the master so you can disconnect the line after the tranny is out. I have used an appropriately sized wrench to push in the plastic ring but the tool is much easier.

Did you use the tool that comes with new slave or new clutch. I did and it bent.

I have the OEM tool. Well, that's what it said on the box, OEM.

Just push in the white plastic collar with a wrench that the closest size, push the hydraulic line in the fitting to unhook it and pull the line apart.
