95' F-150 with a 4.9..

The truck was running great until a day ago, we changed out the fuel filter added some injector cleaner and that seemed to stop the problem at idle..

Before you put it in gear it runs fine, once you put it in gear while stopped it shutters almost like a vacuum leak and while driving it occasionally "misses" Or at least that's what it feels like.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

Well we just seafoamed it and it made it run smoother when its not acting up but it still does it... I'm pretty sure it could be an injector or something of the nature... I;m not really sure.

 

judging by what you've said i would actually lean towards a torque converter. if it runs perfectly fine in park or in neutral and it only acts up while in gear and stopped then it sounds to me like you've got a converter problem. i am assuming it is an automatic though

 

Yes its an automatic.. That's what I was thinking at one point but it drives fine until you hit 40mph and 60, so I'm assuming that's the rpm range, I didn't try taking the OD off.

 

Tried to start this morning and it started but real like crap... I'm think we should check the fuel pressure.... What should it be. 40ish?

 

yeah it should be about 50PSI KOEO, and 45PSI KOER

Alright so, we had the Ignition Module tested, Checked the fuel pressure, and the Vacuum. All of it good!
Could clogged cats be the problem? It has two of them... We're going to check the timing tomorrow and see what happens.

 

Figured it out!!!! It was this green wire on the distributor, you can see that it was rubbing and the inside part I'm not sure what it's called... Fixed it and timed it, now it runs great with no problems.
