Default Shake test worked again

Had a problem with the escort, tail lights stayed on when the key was on, went to escort forum, no help there, tried to trace wires, I started shaking some wires, and found a couple of cut\shorted wires in the hatch harness. Works normally now.

If a moderator catches the "E" word he'll ship your thread in a hand basket, to a place it's yet to snow! That being said, I have an "E" in my stable, and always up for a good "E" story! Especially w/ a happy ending.

Ya but this "e" story also pertains to our loving pickups also, besides I got more help here than I did in the "e" forums for my "e" automobile.

I started out in the "E" forum. Now I'm in 4 F-150's forums. My girlfriend's "E" has been trouble free (Except the hi-cool fan relays don't last long) so haven't been there for at least a year. My truck is reliable to the point of monotony, but these forums are more interesting to start with.

Ha Ha their more interesting than the “E" forum because what can you really do to make an “E” cool.

If your running hot waiting at a drive through or in traffic, and stuff like that, believe it or not, turning on the A/C by-passes the relay & turns the fan on, dropping the temperature. The relay is buried behind a panel on the driverside fenderwell. The one in the power box is the the main cooling fan relay that feeds the two others. There are hi & low relays also, working off the ECT sensor, which also has to be functional.

Thanks I think it did run hot this summer and I did turn on the ac and it cools down, another project for the spring, if when ever it gets here, along with the list of stuff to do on my truck, the basic things, exhaust, pull upper off, I found the egr tube leaking this weekend, probably where my exhaust leak is, u joints, tires, put in 5 speed manual, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, timing chain, finally change oil after about 6000 miles. Was going to pull motor and refresh but if a small motor comes out, a bigger one goes in, such as one of my big blocks.

Well, whatever you do, don't run Bosche plugs in your "E", they cost me a piston.

Basically the only plugs I run in my Fords are AC rapidfire, or Motorcraft. I dont run any of those high dollar hippie triple quadruple platinum plugs that claim to save gas and add more power such as bosch or NipGK plugs.
