same old stalling issue, but different symptoms
I've read for hours all of the threads on the stalling issues, but my problem is a bit different.
As is common, my truck stumbles and misses under light throttle, and when I come to a quick stop, or make tights slow speed turns it stalls every time.
BUT - if I keep on the throttle it wont stall or miss. If I put it into nuetral before coming to a stop or when making tight slow turns it runs just fine.
Could this be the throttle position sensor? I also read that a leaking power steering hose (which I have) can contribute to this - thoughts?
I've checked all vacuum hoses and everything looks fine. Thought I'd check with you fellas and see what you think before I start buying parts.
Oh, and I have a '93 with the 5.0L

I would start there. It should be done anyhow, and it's not too expensive. Get copper plugs. I ran double platinums in the truck and it had a miss at idle. With the cheaper copper cores these trucks run much better. And I would look for a dist. cap and rotor with brass contacts. They cost a bit more, but work better and last longer. Plus, if you intend to upgrade the ignition system for more power later (which isn't that expensive or hard to do) you will need the brass stuff anyway.
Idle Air Control valve. On the 5.0 the location may be different, but on my 4.9 it mounts on the top of the intake manifold, right after the intake tubes come into it from the filter box. It's held on with two bolts and has one plug harness going into it. Here's a quick pic...
I just had my 1995 F150 fixed from a stalling issue I read every forum before I had to take it to a transmission shop. Everybody has covered all of the other problems why an engine would stall except no one has covered the issue of a faulty transmission solenoid block. This part has something to do with controlling the transmission fluid when shifting. But the reason why the engine stalls coming to a stop or slowing down is because the solenoid block is not allowing the transmission to down shift into a lower gear or into first gear when stopping. Its like a manual transmission leaving it in 3 gear and your trying to stop with it in gear, the engine will stall all the time, so basically your engine is stalling because your transmission is not in a low enough gear. Hope this info helps. Its the solenoid block

Sorry I read wrong, your miss is under light throttle. But I still don't see how the transmission would cause a missfire. To bypass the solenoids, if you put the truck in first gear on the column and drive it, do you have the same symptoms?
