Yeah, the good part is that the prior owner seemed to take decent care of the truck before it was crashed. The truck now shows 235K on the clock and no oil consumption etc. I took care of all the little crap before I stopped driving it, and I think it's going to have paid off.

It was rear ended, which bent the tailgate, caused the bed to strike the cab (leaving 2 nice cab dents), broke the tailshaft of the AOD transmission, and folded the rear bumper under the truck. Subsequent to being hit in the rear, it ran into the vehicle in front, which bent the front bumper and frame horns, bumper filler, headlight trims, and cracked the plastic support behind the grille. Though it wasnt a horrible wreck, it did its fair share of damage to the truck. Naturally, due to high miles, the insurance company totalled it and ran it through the auction. It's on a salvage title.

Well I have a lot of experience breaking tailshafts on AOD transmissions! and the dents in the cab, mine came like that too! And my bumper is bent too. But not like yours was. It all just adds character, and a new story to be told to the person you give it to after you.

Here's my 93. I got it with 140,000 miles, mostly from plowing. looked great when i got it, but a couple months of daily driving and the engine went, and the hidden rust broke free. I got a rebuilt engine, but now it's rusted through in the back bed corners and the fender corners. But yours gives me inspiration. It looks great.

Yeah unfortunately a lot of vehicles fall victim to cancer up north. Down here, thats not even close to being a problem. If it means that much to you, fix that old truck!!!

Well, it goes in for the windshield first thing in the morning. After that, I'll surely shoot a few more pictures, especially since it'll finally be able to be outside, and it'll be a sunny day too!!
