replacing dash lights
i was wondering how much work it is to replace the dash lights in a 95 f150. my dad says it is an easy job but he never seems to have time to fix it. i was thinking about trying to tackle the job myself but don't want to break anything since it is my dads truck. i know i got lots of spare led and normal dash light bulbs leftover from upgrading my trucks.
its pretty easy, you just pull the trim pieces off that's on each side of the steering wheel. there are 2 screws, 1 behind each 1. then you remove the headlight **** using a flat tip screw driver to pry the little spring holder thing forward, look at the back of the ****, you will see a little notch in the plastic. then the whole bezel should pull off enough for you to unhook your fuel selector if you got it.
then you just take all the screws off holding your cluster in and pull it out, its easier if you put the steering wheel all the way down, and put the gear select in "1ST" if yours is a auto, also you will have to unhook the gear indicator cable that hooks to your shift lever which is easy also.

thanks again. managed to get them replaced and things look a lot better. they work way better than the flash light did. if i take any of it apart again i think i might try led lights. i could not find where i put my spares this time.
not a big fan of blue led lights. i don't know why everyone likes them? i like the plain white LED light with the stock greenish filter. on my trucks the light comes out a cool blue color.
