All i have for exhaust is the first cat. cut everything behind that out and took in for scrap. Pretty loud. I like it!

I've got no cats, don't know what my mufflers are, true duals with headers, and I idle at 82dB. Yes, removing any cats will make it louder. But if you're gonna take 'em out, take both, it's gonna be illegal with just one gone, might as well get all teh volume you want

Cats are for emissions, not sound. It won't sound much different.

Ohh ok. I bought my truck with the exhaust system already on it, so I don't know what kind of work goes in to making one

you can replace it with a high flow cat and it will sound better and wont be illegal.

I started off my exhaust just by replacing the stock muffler with a flowmaster orig. 40 si/do. The guy that did it told me to drive it for a couple of weeks and if I wanted 1 cat off he would do it for free but he wouldnt touch the first cat. Well i took it back and got it done and it made it a little louder. Well i decided i wanted the first 1 off so i took it to another guy in town. He just cut a hole in it, hollowed it out, and welded it back up. It sounds alot different, not a whole lot louder, but alot different. And better imo. Although im thinkin bout goin lightnin style to get a little more volume out of it but idk

X2! Just Make sure they go up pipe sizes at the Y. Then, something like a full flow glasspack on the other end.
