Default Rear Shock question

Today I put new shocks on the front of my truck. My friend and I were looking at the rear shocks, and decided to get some questions answered before proceeding with them. The upper mounting bolts look pretty rusty, and we were concerned about breaking the shock mount.
I called the Zone and NAPA, and they do not sell shock mounts. My question is, has anyone had these break while removing the old shocks? If so, where did you get a new mount? Is the threaded part welded in place, or is there a nut on the back side?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to break a rear mount.

Sometimes you have to cross your fingers and dive in.

That's all I got.

I agree, but I like to have my worst case scenario plan figured out in advance. If I break the rear mount and can't find a replacement, then I can't drive the truck. The rear with no shocks would probably bounce me right off the road.

If you can't find the mount then find a welder.

Soak them with Deep Creep a day or two before, heat them with a little MAP gas and then hit them again with the Creep. Just did all 4 on my 95, no problems.

Thanks for the info! Now that I know where to get one if it breaks, my friend and I can proceed with the replacement. I have been soaking them with PB Blaster a few times, but will check out Deep Creep.

I just did mine this last weekend with no problems. I was concerned about this too. Like sean said, I just dove in... I replaced my shock with the monroe coil over. BIG BIG difference!!
