Default Really stupid question.

This might be really dumb question but it has me at a standstill. Where do the middle stake pockets go?? I dropped a screwdriver in it by accident and it disappeared!! I figured it would fall out the bottom somewhere but it has not. I can't see it anymore but it rattles around when I drive -_________-

Don't know here, the shortbed only has two stake pockets per side. :-)

All seriousness aside, one of the best tools I have is a telescoping magnet. Get 'em for $5-$10 at most parts stores. Great for picking up metal things such as bolts and washers dropped into places where my big mitts won't go.

Have to make sure the magnet is strong enough to pick up what you lost. I have a small one that looks like an old car antenna (back when they telescoped) for small bolts and washers, and a larger one for picking up dropped socket wrenches and extensions.

Ha ha, the kids decided to hide easter eggs in my stake pockets! Took me a long screw driver and made scrambled eggs and tried my best to flush them out with the water hose. I'll know in a day or two if I got them all washed out! Good luck on the screw driver. Lol

Ever watch South Park? Ever see the episode with the underpants Gnomes? Well out tools end up in basically the same place never to be found.

Mine would probably fall out where the wheel well is rusting.

From what I understand, ford engineers planned for a"tool recovery mechanism" in which any tools lost in the body panels will be easily accessible through viewing ports in 10-20 years, depending on climate and care.
