Really stupid question.
thats why i dont buy snap on lol, i can buy soooomany like craftsman tools with 4500 compared to snap on tools. yea there good or w\e, but iv never had trouble with anything else, and if i do, it has a lifetime warranty.
Matco rep came to school today. He's a good honest guy who gives it to you straight. He said that Matco and snap on use a higher grade steel for their pro line tools ( not the silver eagle or blue point line ) but otherwise the same manufacture makes Matco many snap-on and most Craftsman tools. So in my opinion unless you are looking at some of their special tools ( I love their slim rachets) Craftsman is a great tool. Now if I could just find a good Sears store out here. The stock sucks worse than the salesmen.
BTW Cornwall is the only line still 100% made in the USA.

Snap on ratchets are unbeatable man. Craftsman suck in comparison. Their screwdrivers are better too. I like the "instinct" grip they have. All personal preference really. I've just found in my 5-6 years of working on cars..that snap on just..is better for me.
Here in Texas, Ace Hardware is selling Craftsman tools. I own a lot of Snap-on tools and they are an investment. If you are turning wrenches for a living they are also tax deductible. Doing it as a hobby is another thing.
I used my MAC TOOL dead blow hammer about a year ago and it fell apart. Nice!

I get an impressive discount through the shop I've been working at. And their ratchets are unbeatable as well as their screwdrivers lol that was majority of the price right there. I also had a bunch of milowaukee power tools made in the USA I had a hell of a time finding that because most milowaukee is foreign made now. The only tools I still have is my craftsman socket set that was on the table at the house.
all of my good ratchets are 72 tooth or better, snap on and SK, when i was in school my work partner had craftsman and i hated days when we used his crappy tools...
I bought a couple sets of craftsman tools to start off my tool collection right before they stopped making them in the USA. Next things i need i will probably try to find a place that sells cornwell or cornwall or whatever.
Craftsman's latest line of rachets are 87 tooth. Same as Matco, but bulkier similar to snap-on. I like snap-on cutters. If you like the snap-on screwdriver grip, check out Matco's. They did a handle vs handle grip test. Really interesting. I think really when it comes to delivery truck tools, you just go with whoever delivers to your shop. If your a home wrencher craftsmans professional line is probably gonna do the job for 1/2 the price. As for discounts Matco gives students 53% off, Snap-On %50 on most items, MAC %40-%50, and Craftsman, let's just say you get a better deal watching for sales adds. They are not a big supporter of technical education.
