Default Quick tire question

Okay guys, so, quick question, it's tire for new tires. I'm currently runnin 255 70 r15s, but I'm thinking about getting 265 70 r15s. What will this change as far as power? Or speedo readings? Thanks for the help

Its not that much bigger of a tire so not much will change at all, you will be rolling slightly faster then your spedo indicates but maybe by just a couple miles.

Just remember the more surface area you have with a tire, the more rolling resistance there is and lower economy.

Thanks man, that's what I was thinking. It's only about half an inch bigger anyway height wise and I guess about half an inch again width. I just wanted to make sure. I wouldn't imagine it would effect economy much at all? Thanks a lot!

It wouldnt noticably effect economy. Since you have the 5.8 you wont notice any reduced power, and besides the spedo issue can be fixed easy

I am running 31x10.50x15's on my 1996 F150 4x4 supercab and I love them. My truck came standard with 265's, per the door sticker, so the 31's are only a tick taller than them. The suspension on my truck is bone stock. You should be able to fit the 31's on your truck, the only issue could be front tire rub if you don't have the 4x4.

Good luck!

Yeah, it's not 4x4, I think I'll just play it safe with the 30's. I feel like 31s would look crammed on my particular truck. Thanks for the help though!

I think I would, but I'm pretty set on the 30s now mainly due to a money thing
