Default Question on removing the rotor

I have a 95 F150 xlt 4x4 and need to replace my ball joints. I've seen a lot of how to's on here that have been a great help. But i can't seem to figure this one out. I'm still sort of new to doing mechanical work but have figured it out up till this point.
I started to take the hub apart, I got to the point of removing the spindle nut and noticed another piece behind it. I have attached a picture here as I'm not sure what this piece is called nor how to remove it. Or for the fact of the matter if it can be removed.
If this is in the wrong section please move it.
Thanks
-Chris

I believe its a lock washer should just slide off then ther is another nut behind it that sets the bearing preload Imnot sure about ford but it looks to be the same as used on other makes of that era

Mine is 2wd, but on my K5 there's the nut you took off, that washer which has to be removed, then another nut. The washer comes right out but could be kinda stuck.

The piece behind the hub nut that kind of looks the same, is really just a spacer. It has a dog ear on it, so it will not rotate with your socket wrench. Just reach in and slide it straight out.
Good Luck.
