Is it easier to pull the trans and eng together or seperated. Id like to do it together. If i do them together will the tcase have to come off or can it stay together. Trans is a 4spd 4-4. Motor is a 300. Radiator support is off i dont need to wory about that. Is there any obsticles i need to worry about if i did it all at once.

It can all come out at once, but it depends on how much room you have, are you pulling off hood, the rad and support and front clip or just straight up and out?

In one piece I would get as much out of the way, little more work but then you can get it all with one shot. Just have to balance the engine and tranny with a hoist.

If your going to pull the whole package especialy a 4x4 you would be well advised to pull the front clip and make sure your lift is capable of lifting the entire weight. it might be easyer to remove the transfer case first it will ballence better and wont be so wide at the tail end. it realy is a two man job if you want to avoid damage

what he said... I'd pull the T-case myself and then pull the engine and tranny as one unit thats what I always do...

Yes this is the junk truck im taking it out of the raid support is off already i can easily pull the fenders and other stuff if needed cause the body is junk anyway. Im going to be doing it outside with a skid steer and a chain being bolted up to the motor. It will be me and my dad doing it i just dont wanna crawl under the truck seperate and drop the trans there plus i figured it would be easier to slit the motor and trans out of the truck

You would definitely need the radiator support out to pull a 4.9 and tranny together. I would remove the transfer case.

The motor is going in another truck trans at the moment im not sure. Tcase isnt too bad so i should probly take that out then. But the truck no idc the trans and motor im gonna be careful with. The support i already took out supprisingly it came off pretty easy. I dont want to take the hood and fenders off till i ready to pull the heart and spine to keep it covered up out of the wheather
