Default Power steering pump

Does anyone know, how long do this things (approximately) last after they become audible?

Greetings Comrade!

Have you done some intense parallel parking lately?

Sometimes caused by a lot of parking maneuvering. Pump gets hot, fluid reaches it's boiling point, air gets into system.

The older the fluid, the more likely.

My "Alldata" info suggests putting the front end up on blocks to limit resistance.

Turn the wheel very slowly, both directions multiple times, changing directions before reaching the stops. Hitting the stops is a no-no. That's when problem develop.

I''ve done this 3 times w/ 3 different Ford vehicles. Worked 2 out of 3 times.
I also changed fluid, adding new before the procedure.

I've never seen a ford that didn't have a noisy power steering pump. But I think flushing the ps fluid would be a good idea. Just make sure you put ATF in it.

haha thats a bit of a journey for me. My pump is only a few months old, and it's quieter than the old one but it still has that classic ford power steering noise

I've also never heard one that didn't whine. That's why I put the GM pump on mine.
