i have 40,000 miles and 20 track passes on my rebuilt trac lok. Its a serviceable unit for a reason. When the diff is removed, the pinion stays and doesnt require a reshim, ring depth is set and thats it.
Well, that would be the best for a daily driver, wouldn't it.
I'll get that.
I think SUmmit sells one, if I can't get a whole axle, I think I'll get that.,
Will an axle from a Mustang work? Same Bolt Parrter? Or is it smaller?
What about an Explorer?

i recommended the re servicing procedure with a core from ebay because I did the same and run it in my daily driver for now four years....since I split driving between my two vehicles as of last year. Why bother with a mustang axle? dont complicate a simple process, if you want axles for an F150, get axles for an F150. Besides, some Mustangs were 28 spline, some were 31 spline, depending on the year. F150s were all 31 slpine...you just need an 8.8, 31 spline Traction Lok unit.
Don't mean to interrupt, i've just been lingering through this thread truing to learn some things. I was planning on putting in 4.56's and true tac and i was just wondering if it made a difference which one i put in first. Just asking, since you obviously know about them and i know nothing i figured i'd ask while i had the chance.
