Plenum removal
OK so I go to take out the intake manifold. 4 or 5, 1/2 inch bolts, then there is one inside/under. That one is not 1/2 inch, infact it looks like i'd need an allen wrench on the head of the bolt. WTF??? Any idea what size? Was this some jerry rigged mechanic special or from the factory? I'm friggen stuck now because I have no clue how I'll get at it to do my injectors.

I believe it is a torx, mine was, dont know what size, I went to sears and just bought a set, you can get to it from the hole in the plenum. It was done by Ford I guess it was easier than using a regular bolt.
Yeah, I wasn't too impressed myself. But it was simple enough to get at once I stepped back an scratched my head.
#40 Torx, I used a 1/4 inch, 14 inch long, drive as the 3/8 was too big to fit in the little access hole through the plenum. A T-handle would work, as long as it was 10+ inches long.
Thanks all,

Hope the info helped with the plenum removal.
The pan, engine oil pan i assume, the engine will need to be raised up a bit. This task isn't as daunting as it may seem, but it is more work than it should be. One thing about Ford designers, they do all they can to give job security to Ford Service Mechanics.
The typical manuals, chilton, haynes, are pretty straight forward. I did mine a few weeks back. If you do want more info just PM me.
