Post Performance chip?? Help?

k i have hear you guys say chips will help fuel milage and horsepower.

now thats great any everything but do i have to change anythng when i install a chip i have hear that installing a chip in stock chevs with out upgrading the transmission cooler will take your tranny out will that happen on a ford? what else could or would go wrong?

i found a chip for a 1995 f-150 5.0L will it work for a 1993 5.0L?

take a look at this and tell me if this seems ligit cause i always thought chips were expensive like 200+ not 30 buck. http://cgi.ebay.ca/REAL-PERFORMANCE-...1%7C240%3A1318

Thanks for the help

You have to upgrade to 93 octane gas with most of them unless specified. And I would think the computers are the same. And I haven't heard of having to upgrade anything on ours. But I'm not an expert.

Here are a few of the benefits you may experience:

• Up to 70+ Horsepower and Up to 70+ Ft. Lbs of Torque!

• Up to 22+ MPG Fuel Savings - Beat The High Gas Prices!

• Improved & Smoother Low, Mid & Top End Acceleration & Power

That seems like a load to me But I would think it would tie into the existing wiring and intercept the mappings and load its own. Instead of the programmers that reprogram your computer. But that's just my opinion.

That's not a chip - it's a restistor in a little plastic box that changes the signal from your IAT to your computer... Not worth throwing in the trash.

$300-400? I don't think there are a lot of options for our trucks - Dixie posted in a thread recently about getting a chip custom tuned. Maybe he'll come back on with that info again.
