Default this part is obsolete?

This is part of the cooling/heating system. It is the piece of pipe that threads into the thermostat housing and contains a hose connection which goes to the heater core and a threaded hole for the temp sensor. I called the dealership and they said this part was obsolete and all the junk yards in or around my town crush there vehicles over 10 years old. What the hell do I do? There is a little hole in the pipe, the one that sends coolant to the heater core. I put JB weld on it but I don't like it. Im a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this. Is there anything else I can do besides having it soldered? And this pipe is kind of crimped, deteriorating from the inside so I dont feel comfortable re-using it.

Attached a picture to clarify.

braze it or use galvanized pipe...or go the auto parts store and get a nipple for a GM

Someone here just bought the whole thing brand new for like $30 or something. I don't remember where he said he got it. Maybe NAPA?
