Castrol 5w-30 syn in the cold temps, 10w30 syn in the warm temps.
I used to run 5w-30 all year round but as my miles have been racking up and the hotter its been I really should be using the heavier grade oil but I still ran 10w-30syn in the winter with no ill effect.

Its also as expensive as Royal purple. Unless you run a HP engine of some kind under allot of high RPM's or carry allot of loads I don't really see the need to use that expensive of oil. Even with conventional oil I've seen a couple of these trucks with almost 300k miles on them.
Am soil has a rep of being the disappearing oil as well. Allot of motorcycle guys use it, but experience low oil levels after short term use. I ran it on my Suzuki and lost 1/2 qt in 500 miles. Went back to WalMart supertech 10w30 full synthetic and no more low oil levels. Running it in my 4.9 with great results. About 1/2 qt. low at 8k miles. $3@qt!
