Default odometer and speedometer

Got a 95 f150 and the odometer flashes error.3 and the speedometer is extremely bouncy. There are no check engine codes, the only code it throws is "system good" code. Do you think the cluster needs replaced? I looked up how to calibrate odo for the tire size and I do notice it has been changed 6 times,so I know i'm locked out now. Any ideas?

Could be a bad signal from the VSS on the rear diff, the rabs module behind the glovebox, or the PSOM itself (these are the most likely).
If it comes to the PSOM, you don't need a whole cluster, just a PSOM and you can swap it in to your cluster.
I put up a post about a month ago titled "changing the PSOM". See if you can find that, you'll get the idea.

Well I recalibrated the PSOM and the error.3 message went away. Now I still have a bouncy speedo. Its fairly calm up to 40-45 then after that it goes crazy.

Clean up the connectors, as well as remove the VSS and clean the area where it mounts really good.

VSS is also called the RABS sensor and it is located on top of the rear differential.

Also if you pull the fuse for the ABS and it makes your problem go away, you can be pretty certain it is a bad or dirty RABS/VSS sensor. Not 100%, but pretty close.

The connector to the VSS, as well as the ones that plugs into your cluster.

The whole cluster wouldn't need replaced, just the PSOM. That gets tricky for your year, 94-95 are compatible but heard of some issues with using 94-first half of 95 in late 95s (july-december). Don't know if it was just the PSOM itself or if there really was a compatibility issue as it didn't happen to me.

I wouldn't start throwing parts at it yet though, pull your codes and see what if anything comes up then go from there by testing and eliminating possible issues.
