Photograph all the numbers and bar codes on your old EECM before you turn it in. You may need them later on.

Yup one of the 16v leaked out and the 64v had a broken lead on it I replaced the 64v with a 100v and I replaced the both 16s with 35volts caps i checked to make sure they were put in right and I cleaned the old solder out and re soldered them all

You could have taken one more step to convince yourself the ECC was dead by checking the voltages at IAC and ITC like I said a couple of pages ago. Honestly, that is all it would have provided, a little more diagnostic reassurance for you. It certainly seems like dead ECC is the most likely thing.

I got a remanufactured one from Cardone, but purchased at local FLAP's. I called Cardone first to double check the model number. They requested the original model number from the ECC. My truck already had a remanufactured ECC so I couldn't find it. Cardone said they did not use the calibration code from the sticker on the truck's door pillar, and would need the model number from the original ECC. Believe it or not, I called the local Ford dealership, who never had anything to do with this truck before. I gave the dealership the VIN, and they were able to look up the original ECC model number from 25 years ago... amazing. Cardone then told me which one to buy. It was only about $70 bucks after a coupon. Now we'll see how long it lasts.
