Default New Bumper

Hey I Have An 89 F150. I Wanna Replace The Chrome Bumper I Have Now Has The Impact Strip. I Was Looking At My Lmc Truck Catalog And Saw They Make A Front Chrome Bumper Thats Smooth, But It Says It Only Fits A 92-96. Just Wondering If Anyone Would Know If That Smoothie Bumper Would Fit My 89.
Love The Forum Thanks.

yes it should...87-96 all had the same bumper....

I dont know why they are saying its only 92-96 because my stock bumper is on a 88...and I have sold my aftermarket ones from 87 all the way yp to 96 and they all mount the exact same way and have the same everything

if im not mistakin, 92-96 has that "crush frame" b.s. in the front and the 87-91 doesnt.

not to mention the bumper mounts are essentially the frame. they're welded to the frame.

yeah, i dont know if 2 or 4 wheel drive matters but im pretty sure they were different. but who knows, i could be wrong.

and 8th gens have more of a flat front than 9th gens anyway.

The bumper should go on, either by changing the brackets or not. It's pretty much the same frame from '80-'96. People do the front end conversion all the time and I haven't heard of any problems with mounting the newer bumper to the frame.
