Default Need smog help please.....

The truck is a 1987 f-150 efi with a 4.9 straight six. manual transmission

Test info
Passed all visual/functional but the rear fuel cap and the check engine light did not come on when the key is in the on position.

Emission test
Idle fail on the HC (PPM) max 150 ave 40 meas 294
2500 rpm pass

Just had a oil change and I had ran Seafoam through the gas tank.

bought today to put on/in
Lucas Engine oil stop leak
Lucas upper cylinder lubricant/injector cleaner
brass cap and rotor
brass core spark plugs
new spark plug lines
new PCV valve
New gas cap
bulbs for dash/check engine light
new gas cap

also cleaned the engine when I got home with Simply Green (She was a dirty girl)

Any thing else that I should be doing? This truck has to pass. Its the only vehicle I have.

Just before it was parked 2 years ago
changed plugs

new alternator
new started

it had passed a presmog at that time

looking at the paper it looks like the EGR was looked at but it was decided the issue was the cat

'87 doesn't have a Check Engine light. It has the spot but the factory didn't use it.

I am trying to find something on this so I can print it out to take to the referee when I am ready to go. Any idea where I can find a statement from ford on this or just prove that I can show them?

There should be a database on that sort of thing, I mean there has to be more than one 87 F150 on the road in you're state.

Ok reading on the EGR valve, should I just troubleshoot it or just plan on cleaning it .
How often do they go bad?
Should I just buy one?

The high HC at idle is tune up items. Pull the EGR and soak it in PB to clean. Bet it will pass with the other. Items you bought.
