Default Need the experts.

Pretty sure my trans is on its way out. Been trying to figure out the issue with my truck these past few months and thought it was fuel related. But i think my trans isnt down shifting. The symptoms are identical to driving a manual car, and not down shifting when your rpms drop. feels identical to that.

So my question is, does that sound like something that happens with the e4od trans?? or possibly something completely different.

Is it within a certain speed? Does it buck a little?

The truck DOES downshift, just not within a normal RPM range?

The way it sounds in my mind is like it's bogging down, almost like the engine is working not as hard as it should? I'm a little confused on your explanation.

Basically, if i start the truck and drive it, it drives flawlessly, until i hit the brakes. After the rpms drop, it just takes awhile for the truck to go. For instance, if i slow down around a turn then go up a hill, the truck bogs down, keep giving it gas and eventually, it catches up to itself and will drive normal again. So imagine driving a 5 spd, slowing down to take a turn and going up a hill with out down shifting. It is IDENTICAL to that.

Sorry i know its not a very clear description but i don't know how else to describe it.

Thats why im guessing that it isnt down shifting. Cause like i said if i put it in second, it will drive perfect, but of course cant drive like that all the time

Year of truck? Pulling your codes would be helpful.

Is 93 OBD1 or 2? I don't know if they switched in 92 or 97. Autozone, Napa, or Advanced can all pull codes for free. If it's OBD1, you can check with a paperclip, using flash codes, the big box stores won't have an adapter for it.
