Default Nay Sayers BEWARE! - NOW WITH VIDEO!

So, if anyone has ever told you that our trucks (87'-96') are slooow or crappy or weak, just show em' these:

That would be me, burning the **** out of BOTH the tires at the drag strip tonight. The announcer even said I did the best burn outs' all night long.

Huh, bes' be tellin' it to someone else....

Sweet man. I need to mod my 351 to get my 33s burning. Starting with the obvious- exhaust, ignition/tune up, underdrive pulleys, etc. What mods have you done to get where you are?

Phew, it's a list:

Underdrive Pulleys (March Performance)
K&N Intake
180 degree high flow thermostat (EMP/Stewart)
Shorty Headers (Pace Setter)
Bassani Y-Pipe
3" High flow cat (Bassani)
3" in / Dual 2.5" Out 50 series Flowmaster (Lightning Style)
Mallory 51k Coil
Taylor Thundervolt 8.2 Wires
MSD Cap and Rotor
Motorcraft Copper Cores gapped to .050
Royal Purple Synthetic Oil
Lucas Oil - Oil Stabilizer
Ford Racing Trac-Lok Differential
Ford Racing 4.10 Gears
Royal Purple 75w-90 Diff Lube w/ Lucas SYNTHETIC oil stabilizer
K&N Oil filter

...and more to come...

So, what's all that got me?

I've picked up close to 4mpg (from 15.8 mpg to about 20mpg) and I've dropped a little over a second off the quarter mile time... not too shabby!

my poor old 300-6 wont burn the tires...it wheel hops real bad.... I mean scary bad like break stuff bad...def needs new springs, shocks and lift bars..

the rear springs are so weak the truck starts to sag when I fill either gas tank...it will lean 1in with one tank and 3in with both tanks full...lol

now my 78 4x4 with a lightly warmed over 400 (GM) would literally boils the tires...that was the meanest truck i ever had...just punch it and hold on...it had 38s with 15psi and 4:10 gears....

nice photos

Good job staring w/ the basics & working up from a solid foundation. Look's like fun. Got some adrenaline flashbacks seeing the tree & hearing the engines accelerating. Reminds my old pro waterskiing day's. 104 mph on a ski, & 87 mph barefoot in the 1/4 mile. The boats I skied behind were blown gas, but there was always the smell of nitro in the air from the upper class boats. That's enough to raise your heart rate. 5 concussions, dislocated elbow/ shoulder, multiple stitches, contusions, sprains, pulls, tears, and finally a blown out knee forced retirement. I figure a brain aneurysm is going to take me out eventually. Should have taken up golf! Then all I would have had to worry about would be, being under the influence of a prescription drug & storing my golf clubs by the front door when my wife found out about the 17 ho's I was sinkin my putt's in. I think I could avoid that "perfect storm". Oh ya, & lightning!

I am here, not bad for a 3 ton hunk of american steel, as good as any car or rice burning skateboard.

I once wasted a kid at my school V6 Mustang with my truck. Shut that Dbag up. He said there was no one worth racing around here so I volunteered keep in mind my neighbors have a Chevelle, and a Camaro, and there is a couple Challengers, and Novas in town, and I have a Torino the nerve of that kid. Haha

Well, I don't see anything but black and taillights in the pictures and I don't watch video because my computer doesn't handle it.
