Well you do still have the 280 - 300 lb ft of torque that the 300 brings to the table. Do you have limited slip?

sadly not .. I dont have limited slip.. but i want it.. I havent really needed it yet but i still want it.. and probably higher gears as well as some 31 A/Ts..

I highly doubt my 300 still puts out the 265 pounds of torque its rated at after 21 years but like I said it hasnt failed to do a job yet

Mine still had hone marks in the cylinders at 140000 miles...

It put out way more torque than it was rated for the reason they rated it low was because they needed a reason to get people to pay extra for a 302...

The 300s actual torque numbers put it in 351 territory for stump pullin power.

I dont know why more people didnt opt for the limited slip, it wasnt really even an expensive option...

well several things..

1st my truck is base modle XL... No options at all.. nothing.. no ac.. no power anything (besides steering and brakes lol).. no carpet.. no headliner.. NOTHING lol..

and 2nd while $250 seems cheap now days you have to remember that that was worth about $750-$1000 20 years ago.. just look at the price of the truck.. 12k?? a truck now days with those options is nearly three times that..

I suppose thats very true. I hadnt thought of that.

I priced out a truck just like mine at Ford B&P and it costs $31000 MSRP... thats ridiculous. My dad got out the door with this one for $13100 fleet price with a bedliner thrown in.

If you want a revelation on what a 300 will do, gear the truck as if it were a V8. I once had a Dodge Townwagon that originally had a large block 318 V8, the engine was shot so we put a 225 slant 6 in it. It had a 4 speed 435 NP transmission geared for the V8. I turned into a great highway truck and the gearing slowed the rev's by about 500 rpm so the 225 could cruise at highway speeds with lower rev's then it would have been with the 3 speed tranny it would have been equipped with.

The slickest way of doing this would be to install a axillary two speed over and under drive transmission. Having said all of this the money you would spend to do this would purchase a lot of gasoline.

Well it does have the same M5OD transmission that Ford put on the 302 as well. It has 3.55 LS Front and Rear, it scoots pretty good when you get on it.
