Default MAP or MAF

Can someone tell me when the went from MAP to MAF? I have a 1994 with 302 manual 4x4 xlt, I have owned since new and it is MAP. I just picked me up another 94 exactly the same except color and is an automatic. Build date on my original is 3/94. Build date on the one I just bought is 2/94. Did they start using MAF on automatics first four some reason?

Just for kicks attached is a pic of it. Gave $750 for it. Been stored in a old ban the past 2 years after the old guy that owned it died... Interior needs cleaned up, rather dusty. Seats have had covers on them since new I was told, and are immaculate under the covers. Has a tiny bit of rust, but I will fix that when I get done with my other truck. Do now I think I own 2 with colors not seen every day. Was told the guy bought it me and babied it. Maintained it more than needed, think it'll be alright after a little cleaning up and fixing up.

California emission trucks are earlier.

Edit. Looks nice. Heck of a good buy.

Did it originally come from California? 2 different MAF's were used on the rest of the country, I believe.

Does the emission label say "complies with federal and California emission standards" or something to that affect.
