Default manual trans. problem

I have a 93 f150 4x4 5spd. First and second gear went out so i pulled the trans. I replaced the slave cylinder and took the trans. to have the shifter mechinism rebuilt. Last night i put only the trans back on. No, transfer case or drive shafts. I went through all the gears and the output shaft was turning. I assumed the problem was fixed and put everything back together. Now, i still do not have first or second gear. The tranny deffinatly feels like its going into gear but its like its in nutruel. The truck will cost backwards. Any advice?????

Its likely that the synchros are gone or the shift forks are bent. When a transmission goes, have the entire thing rebuilt or replace it, if a part of it failed catastrophically, it is likely something else could be worn out too.

I lost first and second. I needed a new shift fork but instead I built it up with my welder.
