Hey everyone! New to the site. I have an 89 f150 4x4 shortbed that I traded for a cherokee. Anyway my issue is that the tranny is a 5 speed and the clutch and pressure plate are burned out! I also have another 87 f150 shortbed 4x4 that I picked up for $50 bucks. Now mind you this was the one I was going to fix, but when I saw the 89 It was in far better shape. the 87 has an AOD tranny that is in perfect shape. Can some one tell me if a general swap around would work? I have already swapped out the pedals and stearing shaft, also swapped other stuff around too like the gauge cluster. the only thing left to do is the trannys. My issue is simple, does the computer have anything to do with the swap??

 

Not with the AOD it's not computer controlled.
