lowering shackle help

ok guys so i went and bought some of those universal lift shackles at o'reailys being told they would work the question is should they be longer or shorter than stock and there the multi position ones
(sorry i have no idea about these universal one)

Because the leaf springs are over the perch the shackles will be longer to lower the truck. The universal ones have 3 holes for a 1", 2", or 3" drop depending on what hole you use. When I used the universal ones for my Chevy I wanted to use the stock bolts because they seemed stronger than the ones supplied with the shackles so I had to enlarge the holes in the shackle slightly.

Cutting them off will be fine. The extra length offers no extra strength.

ok now hopefully this is the last ? is there any solvent such as pb blaster avaible that is stronger me and my buddy cant get the bolts broke loose on the stockers lol

A very long breaker bar usually works for me, and if it doesn't I extend it with a steel pipe. I once lifted a Honda off the ground by the C/V bolt with a 1/2" breaker bar and 6 foot long steel pipe. Either the bolt will break or the breaker bar will.

i tried that lol i tryed cheater pipe but couldnt find one to fit under the truck
ive gotta get an exhaust leak fixed today i might see what the shop says about em

thanks alot sean i ended up with exhaust problems and went to some familys to solve that and in the process got the shackles on
ill get pics when i can spray this road grime off
