I got a curved one, you think it would look good on my bumper?

 

YES! I have a 20" straight bar on the bumper now and it works out great there. The truck is currently parked, but in the end I was only running the 20" bar on the bumper and only used the 50" bar in the woods.

I'm definitely not a fan of just slapping a light bar on top of a bumper IMO that's just as bad as when people mount them to the roof of their trucks with the little cheap mounting feet they come with. If you're not going to put it above the windshield I think it would look real sharp if you cut your bumper open and stuck it inside of the bumper.

 

Mines only a 20" on the bumper. I like the idea of cutting the bumper to an extent. With that said the 20" looked great on top of the bumper. I would think a curved bar would fit the bill nicely. I will agree though - Do not put the bar on the front of the bumper! DUMB! Seen it - FAIL! The 9th gen bumper has plenty of surface area to mount the bar securely to the top side and not hang off of the front. I had about 1/4" between the rear of the bar and the grill and it probably sat about an inch back from the front lip. My truck is out at my property and I don't have any pics to post right now. Wish I could.

 

Not sure if 54" would be to long/wide, but have you considered mounting it behind the grill?

 

My top bar is 50". That leaves about 2-3" on either side of the roof to spare. Being how the roof is more narrow than the cab itself, a 52" curved should be ideal.........overkill.........but it should work. After adding the 20" on the bumper, I have no reason to need the top bar. It's basically just there now. I'd think going with a curved 36" would look good and be plenty of light and easier on the electrical system.

 

i already bought the curved 52" and I measure my front bumper and the amt. Of curvature and length will follow the bumper just right, on the top of the bumper, if I set it there before I mount it and it doesn't look right I'll move it but I have a good feeling as with everything else I've done on my truck that it'll look bad *** lol and I'm not cutting my bumper, especially for a curved light bar, that just won't work, the way the bumper is shaped and the way the light bar curves just wouldn't match up if I just cut a slot... we'll see I guess and na it won't fit in the grill insert lol
