Usually, but they're old trucks anyways. You're not going to find low mileage engines anymore for these trucks. They all have over 100k.

I know, but I don't wanna pay $450 and wind up replacing it in another year.

Then bite the bullet and just buy a remanufactued short block and a gasket set if your heads are suspect then get a long block. They can be had for under a grand and come with a warrenty

I've looked all the options before and long blocks are like $1,500+. My heads should be fine, but that kinda tear-down will take too long.

While new may come with a warranty, there's still no guarantee you won't be doing it again in a year either.

That's a good point.

Sometime in the next few days, I'm going to the pull your own part place to check out their selection. I know they want $165 or $185 for a motor, it might be worth a look, I just don't wanna pull a motor with just what I can carry in.

I dont know exactly where you at here in Kentucky but there are several junkyards around up here that have alot of fords if you want some numbers holler at me

Where do you go Sean? We live in the same area. I usually go to Pull n Pay or occasionally Preston's....
