Are there any off brands that are just as good our better / cheaper than the K&N filter setup?

Yup Ractive Air, very cheap and work exactly like K&N if you clean and maintain them. Have mine for 2 years and works great.

Get a K&N RF-1012 for $32 like I did on ebay.... can't get much cheaper than that and it is twice as large as the one in sylvers

The dual to single intake pipe from the 4.9L will fit the 5.0L Throttle body. My filter cost about 25$
