i got the pic up now........and yes its better now with the new switch.

the wires from that plug go up by where the heater core is maybe for the ac?????

W/ any poor contact point (in this case, old Ignition switch component), increased amperage (& heat) will occur & will continue thru a circuit to exacerbate other weak points. These weak points include any step down in wire size.
