I had a chevy that you had to hold the ignition rod at a certain point or it would hang up. I always left my keys in it and no one stole it. Then again it was a chevy.

It's against the law to leave your keys in your ignition unattended here.

I live in a not so great area. Luckily enough, my ignition is screwed up so I can pull the keys while it is running. Let's me warm up the truck with the doors locked, lol. It can still be stolen, just won't be able to shut off.

We live in 10k town, very very little crime but I still wouldn't leave my keys in anything besides that truck. Then again it also had shaved handles and the solenoid was failing so if you weren't pulling the door just right when you pushed the button it wouldn't open.

It's illegal in our town to leave keys in the ignition, but just because the Iowa State Penitentiary max security is just outside of town.

Replaced the ignition actuator, fixed the problem and now I don't have to tilt my wheel for the starter to engage. Win for me lol
