Default ignition control module update

i found out that they switched to a inner fender mounted Ignition Control Module after 1990. i still have the distributor mounted type. i have 160,000 miles on my truck and its the original. if i decide to change it, say for just because of the mileage, would or do they make a kit that enables me to mount it on the inner fender.

you'd probably have to have a donor vehicle and do the swap yourself. I found this link that walks you through for a ranger, which is pretty much the same. But its only been replaced once in my 89, and that was when the motor was replaced last year, so in my opinion its more work than its worth unless you're actually having a problem with it failing over and over.

same here, so with the exhaust manifold being on the other side I guess we don't have to worry. Another win for the 4.9 haha

X2. Spend the time & money on something more worthwhile:http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/show...ht=timing+bump Sure the Dist. mount have a slightly higher failure rate, but my 87' 302's still has the original Dist. TFI, so the accelerated failure rate can't be that critical! 23 years and counting............!
