Default A.I.R tubes

Iam getting a junkyard motor for the truck and one of the things is are the AIR tubes in the head or the block (maybe the intake) but what do they look like? Mine is a 94 (MFG date is Nov 93) with the 4.9l 4x4

Mine had it in the head, the other place would be the intake. One of the smog pump heater looking hoses runs to it, from the control valve above the alternator. It's a larger diameter metal tube which has six smaller tubes running off it.

Ok ill take a look.

I was planning on getting a motor to drop in the truck from a junk yard, you think I would be able to pull the head/oil pan off there to check it out before I buy it?

Help or Dorman has replacements, look it up, they should have them at descent prices.

I wouldn't pull the head, maybe the valve cover if you don't mind taking off the upper intake. You could probably look through the oil fill to see if there's excessive sludge.
