Default hood problems

Has anyone else had a problem when closing thier hood the first latch holds it down, but the latch you have to pull from the cab doesn't do anything. I have to slam the hood down almost 10 times to get it to shut.

Check the latch & latch locking mechanism mounts. Look for evidence that either has shifted out of their original/ correct positions. Common.

Just turn the leveling posts in a bit.
Or shim the catch.

56 is right happens quite often. Also spray it down with some lithium grease or some kind of lubricant. I like to use Prism its penetrating oil that dries to grease.

Not trying to steal yor thunder, but my drivers door has recently requred harder and harder shuttig, slight rattle, and makes a VERY loud, sharp click when i open it. It just started this. Its well lubed, and the pin the latch grabs is secure and okay, so my problem is my latch, but what do i do?

If you aren't trying to steal their thunder then maybe you shouldn't thread steal....just saying. And if you know it's the latch and its well lubed, try replacing it. Both my doors rattled and made a loud "click" when I opened them, didn't need to shut it hard but sometimes I had to bump the door to get it to close all the way if I shut it too soft....replaced the "strikers" on those pins/catches and it all went away. Was a little disappointed...I miss the click when pull the handle from the inside or push the button from the outside ... it was like the ding when you leave your lights on or the key in the ignition, it let me know in a clear authoritative "CLICK" that yes....my door was now open....and to the OP of this thread, sorry I participated in this little diversion...I'm not sure what your problem could be, though I had a friend who's car did this too...somehow he had bent something or shifted the latch from slamming his hood down too much whenever he closed it.

I know. Sorry....sleep deprivation, energy drinks, and 3 days from 5 am to 10 pm swapping an engine got me a little excited...
