Default Which Hitch

so my truck had a hitch a heavy rusted out chunk of metal. when i replaced my rear tank i had to remove it and i never put it back on. and it ended up scrapped. now though i find that i may need to tow my mustang across country in the near future so i need another one.

but i dont know which to buy. i got a 302 automatic 4x4 and my 86 mustang is what i would be towing. i know i need at least a class 3 but not much beyond that. should i buy new? could i try to find one out of a junked f150? if going the junkyard route could i pull from a 250 or even a 350? i dont do much towing so any advice would be greatly appreciated

did you pull a class three or something stouter. other than rusting out or getting twisted up i cant really see a hitch becoming unusable. but i could be wrong. my very tight wallet at the moment is what is making me lean more to the used side. honestly i hope things work out and i dont move.

i had a class 4 on my 150 that i bought new. but if you can find 1 at a yard, get it. they can be bent but that isn't very common. also 1 from a 250/350 should work since the frame width is the same.

I don't know what class it is, I just know it is plenty strong enough for what I use it for.

I have seven friends that own junk yards they get bent and broken all the time if you seen the way they treat things in junk yards you would change your mind plus you are towing across country not to the locel boat lanch choose wisely

I get engines, transmissions, body parts, whatever from SALVAGE yards. Not all of it is junk.
