Hesitation with half a tank
hey Guys
purchased my 92 flareside 5.8 last week and already knowing it has a hesitation issue with a half a tank and/ or when it’s cold. Took it to my trusted mechanic and he said every time he drove it it was fine I get in it today and step on the gas and it hesitates around 1500 rpm for a second or 2. The pervious owner changed the fuel tank and it ran fine, then taking it to the mechanic where they changed the fuel pump and idler and then it started hesitating. Any ideas to what causing the issue. Tried to make a video but every time I hit record it didn’t hesitate lol my thought is it’s lacking the correct amount of fuel.
Thanks

Drive with a fuel pressure gauge attached, and wait for a safe moment to check it DURING the hesitation:

But there are MANY potential causes for any number of conditions that someone might describe as "hesitation". Without more specifics, we can only guess at what you're observing, and what's causing it. Are the plug wires routed EXACTLY as this diagram shows?

What's the plug gap? What transmission does it have, and have you maintained it properly? Are the engine mounts broken? Are the wheel bearings adjusted? Are the u-joints smooth & tight?Have you ever checked compression or timing chain slop? Put all the truck's details into your signature:

A code reader is not necessary for pre-'96 F-series.

Not when it delivers spurious codes, which they're known to do. Especially the cheap ones, but also the $100 ones. A paperclip will never lie to you.
