Default help with id of gear

I have the speedometer gear pulled from my transmission and need some help with the id since the guts at the dealership are of no help.

As you can see it is a 6 tooth yellow gear that is held impasse by the detent ball and a c-clip. It is a 4 speed toploader with od and 3.53 gears in the rear end. From doing Web searches I think I have the E1TZ-17285-A gear but would like to know for sure. Thanks

I didn't have a problem getting it from the dealer without a part number.

Try calling around at part stores, they may have a better idea what you need, or even finding a gear from a used transmission.

It's a dealer only part, or junkyard. I'm pretty sure all the 2wd gears are the same, other than teeth count but all the ones I pulled were exactly the same. Stick or auto, 4 speed or 5. I know for a fact my 4 speed and 5 speed had the same gear.

just by looking at it you have a 7tooth gear. that will help you out a bit there.

Fits some Ford 4 / 5 speed standard transmissions early 1980s to early 1990s and some early 60's 3 speeds. Fits some transfer cases also. This gear takes the place of the no longer available C8AZ-17285-B yellow 7 tooth gear. (OUT OF STOCK) Cost $45.00

Discontinued and the site is out of stock. I posted a WTB in the for sale section so hopefully someone will have an old tranny laying around that has a good one.
