Default help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello guys . New to the forum i really need some help. First i have a 1996 F-150 4x4 5.0 . On the way home the other day my o/d light started flashing and no speed or mileage showing. All other gauges work. I stop and got a code read and it was PO500. So i looked it up and said i needed vss sensor. Yesterday in the snow change the one off the rear axle nothing. Notice that there is one on the driver side of the trans change that one nothing. Some one told me that the one on the rear is abs sensor. Is there any more sensors. Part book says three but do not no? this morning i looked at the dash but nothing looked loose. I do have dash and dome light. No shifting problems runs good. really need some help please.:

The VSS sensor is located on top of the rear differential, check the connectors, wires, 5 volt supply and if that checks out replace the sensor

Test for power and grounds on the sensors. Replacing sensors don`t fix bad wires and every thing likes to be grounded.

The volt system on any car or truck likes to grounded. There are about 6 grounding cable on your truck. I clean or spray them with penatrating oil. The one under and on the back of may truck is a slide on clip one. If you do any off roading it may have came off on one side or could be gone. I`m still looking for the elec spec on the vss. What trans do you have in this truck?
