Default heavy rain and map sensor

So just about every time we get a lot of rain i get code 22 on my 88 300. After resetting the computer everything is fine. Anyone ever had something similar to this?

Never mind on resetting the computer. Just had to replace the map sensor again

Is the hood cowl seal in ok condition? I had the same issue awhile back with my MAP sensor and noticed a brittle and broken seal above it that let water drop in on my MAP sensor.

I tried that last time the sensor went out. I went to the junkyard and pulled a whole cowl seal that's in pretty good shape. So that's not it. It's just the one piece right?

Yes it is.

I saw that they came out with a new design for the MAP sensor that had a gel in it. I got that one. The other one that was acting up had little holes in it that water could get in.

I was concerned about the gel one at first, but it hit me (after posting on here and asking about it) that it was a better design.

Have not had any problems out of that one.

Does this look like the new style? I don't see any holes

Yours is sealed, so you shouldn't have to worry about moisture anymore.

Here is a pic of the one on my truck:

I truly thought it was missing the lid on it, but that's how they are made after checking around at a few places.

Wow I've never seen one like that. The other 4 map sensors I've gone through look just like the one I have now except this one is from napa. I'm just hoping advance auto parts has crappy parts lol
